Synopsis & narrative arc
From invisible systems to people of light
Synopsis: Over the course of one year, People of Light follows Fatima, Omar, Soraya and Andrei
through key moments in their professional and personal lives. We enter mobility control rooms before dawn, digital
governance hubs where data becomes real-time decisions, and emergency centers where seconds make the difference between
chaos and safety.
As their stories unfold, we discover the values that drive them: responsibility, excellence, humility and a deep belief
that public service is a calling, not just a job. Through parallel scenes in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Europe, the film shows
how the UAE model of governance can inspire and challenge other systems worldwide.
In the final movement, a major stress event - from a sandstorm affecting visibility to a multi-system disruption -
becomes the dramatic test that ties all threads together. The crisis reveals not only the robustness of infrastructure,
but the humanity, courage and calm of the people behind it.
